Warning: Make sure the router bit is properly fastened and tightened in the router’s collet and the bit can rotate freely without any obstructions.
Instructions: Slowly dial up the RPMs on your router to the recommended maximum. Then, dial back if needed to find the “sweet spot”. The sweet spot is the speed at which the least resonant vibration is present. If the sweet spot cannot be achieved within 5,000 RPMs of the max, check the collet for residue or other debris and start over.

Use a raised panel router bit profile to reduce the thickness of the center panel of rail and stile doors while at the same time adding a beautiful profile to the edge. Install one of these bits in your table mounted router and route your panels face down. Raised panel door router bits have a large diameter and remove a lot of material, so make sure you have a router with enough horsepower to handle this kind of work. All standard raised panel bits are fitted with radial bearings to make adjustment of the router table fence easy. Do not use these bits in handheld routers. If you are using stock that is very thick, choose one of our raised panel router bits with a backcutter blade. These will remove excess stock from the back of the panel as well.
